Treatment and Accessibilities Round Table Discussion

February 25 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Feb. 25 at 5:00
Discuss Motions 3 and 4

Motion 3
Motion that “& Accessibilities” be removed from the “Treatment & Accessibilities Workshop” line item in the VAC budget. The workshop will become solely a Treatment workshop, and the new Accessibilities Committee may decide later if their own workshop would help in the performance of their work.

Motion 4
Motion that a section be added to the VAC Service Guidelines in the VAC Service Manual for the Accessibilities Committee. The suggested entry would read as follows, pursuant to any editing/formatting deemed necessary by the Growth Committee.
Section 1 – The purpose of the Accessibilities Committee shall be to help provide information and determine resources and recommend activities that will help carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to those with accessibility needs in the Area, districts, and groups.
Section 2 – The Accessibilities Committee shall coordinate information, efforts, and activities with other Standing Committees, Intergroups, districts, and groups within the Area on the concerns of Accessibilities in Alcoholics Anonymous.
Section 3 – The Accessibilities Committee shall encourage and assist districts, groups, and individual A.A. members involved in this Twelve Step work.
Section 4 – The Accessibilities Committee shall encourage the use of G.S.O.’s “Accessibility” guidelines, kits, workbooks, and other related G.S.O. and Grapevine literature and material at the Area, district, and group level.”
