The Finance and Budget (F&B) Committee shall be responsible for establishing a sound fiscal policy for the Area, keeping in mind our Tradition of self-support and that sufficient operating funds, plus a prudent reserve (determined at the Spring Assembly which shall not exceed the normal, recurring, actual expenses from the previous year), should be the Area’s fiscal policy. The F&B Committee shall prepare and submit a budget for the coming fiscal year (fiscal year is January 01 to December 31) at each Fall Assembly.
Every A.A. group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.” This means that only A.A. members contribute financially to A.A. – and even A.A. members are limited in the amount they can contribute. This keeps A.A. free of outside influences that might divert us from our primary purpose — to help the alcoholic who still suffers. The amount of the contribution is secondary to the spiritual connection that unites all groups around the world.
