Special Assignment Personnel

Special Assignment Coordinators are personnel who help the VAC function. They do not, necessarily, work directly with a committee. They are allocated funds to aid in the performance of their duties.

Accessibilities Coordinator = accesscoord@aavirginia.org

The Accessibilities Coordinator shall be responsible for implementing the VAC Safety Plan and ensuring, as much as possible, accessibility at VAC events for all attendees.

 

Archivist (or Alternate Archivist) = archivist@aavirginia.org or atlarchivist@aavirginia.org

The Archivist shall be responsible for managing and organizing the Area archival program by collecting, arranging, and making available all obtained archival materials related to Area history and to promote, protect, and preserve this collection.

 

Arrangements Coordinator = arraignments@aavirginia.org

The Arrangements Coordinator shall be responsible for planning the arraignments for two annual Area Assemblies, in the Spring and Fall, and two annual Area Committee Meetings, in the Winter and Summer. Further duties include communicating with Districts for hosting each event and acting as the liaison between the Area and the facility. Usually they also serve as the Alternate Chairperson.

 

Information Technology (IT) Coordinator = ITCoord@aavirginia.org

The Information Technology (IT) Coordinator shall be responsible for acquiring, maintaining, accurately inventorying and recommending replacement equipment for all information technology (IT) equipment, including computers and related peripheral hardware and software, as required by the VAC’s trusted servants. The IT Coordinator shall also serve as the Google Workspace administrator which includes all VAC emails, groups and shared drives.

 

Mailing List Coordinator (or Alternate Mailing List Coordinator) = maillist@aavirginia.org or altmaillist@aavirginia.org

The Mailing List Coordinator shall be responsible for updating and maintaining the Area mailing list information on Groups, General Service Representatives (GSRs), Group Contacts, District Committee Members (DCMs) and Area Committee members. The Mailing List Coordinator shall liaison with the General Service Office to keep all Area list information synchronized.

 

Newsletter Editor = newsletter@aavirginia.org

The Newsletter Editor shall be responsible for the publication of three editions (Spring, Summer & Fall) of the Area Newsletter annually.

 

Sound Engineer = soundeng@aavirginia.org

The Sound Engineer shall be responsible for maintaining custody, and an accurate inventory, of all sound and audio equipment owned by the Area. The Sound Engineer shall set up and operate all necessary equipment at each Area Assembly and Area Committee Meeting, make themselves and the equipment available for use by Districts, Intergroups, or Groups within the Area at official events and recommend replacement equipment. The Sound Engineer shall be responsible for hosting any VAC-level virtual meetings.

 
Website Coordinator (and Alternate Website Coordinator) = webcoord@aavirginia.org y altwebcoord@aavirginia.org

The Website Coordinator shall be responsible for maintaining the technical aspects of “The Website of the Virginia Area of Alcoholics Anonymous” which includes keeping meeting and event information up-to-date (also correspondence with the requestors), conducting regular backups, keeping the software current, ensuring the Website stays secure, liaison with the Hosting service, and validating is ongoing operation.
